WHAT WE MAKE

A Focused Ribbon Portfolio for Different Print Requirements

Thermal transfer ribbon selection depends on more than a product name. Print surface, printer configuration, required image durability and roll format all influence which formulation should be evaluated. Cison organizes its product range around these practical differences.

Wax Thermal Transfer Ribbons

Typically considered for general barcode and variable-data printing on paper label stocks. The exact label coating, printer setting and expected handling remain important selection inputs.

Wax-Resin Thermal Transfer Ribbons

Used when coated papers or selected synthetic labels require greater print definition and abrasion resistance than a general wax ribbon. Product matching should reflect both the face stock and downstream use.

Resin Thermal Transfer Ribbons

Intended for synthetic films and applications with stronger resistance requirements related to rubbing, chemicals or heat. The target material and operating environment should be reviewed together.

Color and Metallic Ribbon Options

Current sample configurations include black, gold, white, red, blue, green and gray print options. Color defines the required appearance, while the underlying formulation still needs to match the label or packaging material.

SPECIFICATION DISCUSSION

A Useful Ribbon Conversation Starts with the Actual Print Job

Two ribbons with a similar appearance can behave differently on different coatings, films or printers. Sharing the exact application gives the discussion a clearer technical starting point and helps reduce avoidable specification mismatches.

Print Surface and Application

Identify the label stock or packaging film, what will be printed and how the finished item will be handled.

Printer and Roll Format

Provide the printer brand and model together with ribbon width, length, core, winding direction and ink side when available.

Appearance and Use Conditions

State the required print color and any exposure to rubbing, chemicals, heat, moisture or repeated handling.

A material specification, existing ribbon label, print sample or application photo can make the product discussion more specific.

VERIFIED DOCUMENTATION

Management System Certificates and Sample-Specific Test Reports

Cison holds an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system certificate covering the production of thermal transfer ribbon. Certificate No. 34926Q00421R001 was issued on August 25, 2026 and is valid through August 24, 2029, subject to the stated certificate conditions.

The ISO 14001:2015 environmental management system certificate covers environmental management activities related to thermal transfer ribbon production. Certificate No. 34926E00245R001 has the same issue and validity dates, subject to its stated conditions.

SGS Test Documents by Product Sample

SGS reports are available for selected wax, wax-resin, resin and color ribbon samples. Defined test scopes include EU RoHS, halogen, PPWR heavy metals, selected PFAS substances and BPA. Coverage varies by sample, so the relevant report should be checked against the exact ribbon being evaluated rather than applied to the full product range.
